Stella Maris - Formentera Break

The location is the apartment's one real plus. We were charged €220 a night outside the season, yet even toilet paper wasn't supplied, which is disgraceful. We found only a bottle of Fairy dish soap on arrival, with no hand soap, coffee capsules, salt, or other basics. There are no trash bags either, but you're fined if you don't take rubbish to a bin 500 meters away, so you have to buy lots of supplies yourself. You're also fined for leaving dishes unwashed, despite there being no dishwasher. Everything has been washed by hand by prior guests, so we felt it was unhygienic and washed it all before using it. Rest was difficult: buses pass every 30 minutes and make the floor shake, the mattresses are uncomfortable, and the apartment's loungers are old and dirty. After many vacation rentals, this was the first host who seemed so unconcerned with guest comfort. When we mentioned the many things that needed improvement, we got a big smile and the very sincere answer, "Here, the owner only cares about making money."

The apartments were new, attractive, and more than suited us for a few days on the island. The beach is only 300 meters away, with hotels and restaurants nearby, including 190 Pasos, where the food and dishes are amazing. We had a scooter, so getting to the different beaches and coves was easy, and the precise location didn't matter much to us.

We had a small terrace that was handy for coffee or breakfast, and check-in and check-out were easy. The kitchenware was good quality and in great shape, the shower had strong pressure, and the bathroom was bright. The bed was comfortable too, and the windows and front door were new. It's less than five minutes from the beach. Since we were staying seven days and had read earlier reviews, we brought extra toilet paper, trash bags, salt, and oil.

The room was fine, the kitchen okay, and the air conditioning worked perfectly, but I wouldn't recommend staying here. The area is nice, though it's on a busy road and there's no parking. Unlike other nearby apartments, they don't clean during your stay, and they don't leave cleaning products or trash bags, so if you cook, you have to buy everything for cleanup. There was no shower gel or shampoo, and only two rolls of toilet paper. They brought extra towels but left the dirty ones behind. The value for money is terrible, even for Formentera. And when you need help, they never answer the phone.
