Fornalutx Petit Hotel

The shared areas and lobby are tastefully done, but our room was musty and unpleasant to spend five nights in. It looked nothing like the online photos: ours was dated, had a tiny TV, and the bathroom was a clear box inside the room, so whoever was showering could be seen the whole time. The air conditioning didn't work during our stay, when it was 35 degrees. Breakfast was average; we only went on the first morning, and the fruit was sour and off. To me this feels more like a 2-3 star hotel than a 4-star one. The hotel needs to manage expectations, either by lowering the price or updating the photos to show what the rooms are actually like. I've since read the same complaints in reviews going back two years, so it seems management has no intention of fixing things and doesn't care whether guests return. It's a shame, because the town is so cute. Go to Corella for breakfast, divine!!!!

We hadn't planned to stay in the village and only booked this place by chance, needing a break after a long day on the bikes. The room turned out to be beautiful, and breakfast was so good that I ate far too much and could barely move. Such a lovely surprise.

We only spent one night here, but it's a beautiful place. They've made great use of a fairly narrow building with limited space, and the interiors are lovely. Everyone on staff was warm and friendly. I'm vegan and could still enjoy breakfast without making any special requests in advance.

There wasn't much personal contact, and there's no lift, so be ready to carry your bags up the stairs. The location is beautiful, and because the hotel is so small it's peaceful. Breakfast is good.
