Casa Micaela

We felt comfortable at the finca, and it has a lot going for it: a comfortable bed, oven, ceramic and induction hob, washing machine, covered terrace, gas grill, loungers, towels, and a fridge with freezer compartment, among other things. Still, I can’t recommend this rental because of several problems. The neighbors’ dog barked and howled almost constantly while we were there. It got really annoying. Dogs bark sometimes, of course, but this was nearly nonstop. We could hear it from quite a distance and even stopped to check that it wasn’t our fault. The parking was another headache. The driveway is steep and narrow, and although driving down was manageable, the parking area has an extremely tight turning space. Getting the car parked facing uphill took a lot of maneuvering. I’ve been driving for decades, but getting back up to the road was borderline and cost a lot of time and patience. Reversing in might have worked, but I didn’t try it. Other guests on booking portals mentioned parking on the street, but that immediately causes trouble with the neighbors, so that wasn’t an option either. There was also a discrepancy with the booking. The landlady wanted more money than we had paid through the booking portal, and would only accept cash, not a bank transfer or anything similar. I find that unacceptable, which is why I took off a star.
