Camping 3 Estrellas

We had one of our best camping trips at HolaCamp. The site is exceptionally well kept, and the location, grounds, and services are all excellent. Your team does a great job maintaining everything. A couple of small changes could improve things further: trimming some trees would make it easier for larger camper vans like ours to get around, and separating the clean water filling station from the grey and black water disposal area would be more convenient. We’d rate it 9.5 out of 10 now, and those adjustments would make it a 10 for us. We’ll certainly recommend the site and hope to return.

I nearly skipped this campground because of the noise complaints, but I’m glad I booked. It’s beside a highway and a large international airport, so of course you can hear airplanes. I’m not sure what people expected, for the airport or campground to move? If you want tranquility, an urban campground probably isn’t the right choice. The location worked well for us because it offers access to both the beach and the city. There isn’t much right around the campground, but a street with cafes and restaurants is about a half-hour walk away, around 2 km. Barcelona city centre is under an hour by bus. Internet was our main issue. The Wi-Fi was under 5mb, and for some reason our cell service wasn’t working either. That made things very difficult when we needed to work.

On a sunny day, it’s wonderful to be here, right by the sea. There’s a private entrance and exit to the beach. Swimming isn’t allowed on this stretch, though para surfing is possible.

There’s very little privacy here. The lodges are packed close together with hardly any space between them, and camping vans park right beside them. We could smell smoke and hear nearby campers. Cars, vans, and even planes made noise constantly, so it was hard to rest or sleep. We stayed for two nights and found the place quite disappointing. The rooms are very small, there were no proper blankets, and there’s no heating at all. We were genuinely freezing overnight. Being near the beach might make this a nice place in summer, but in cooler weather it isn’t worth the price when even basic comfort is missing. It may have a completely different, nicer feel in summer, but I wouldn’t recommend it in colder seasons. It definitely wasn’t comfortable for us.
