Hotel Los Olivos

The location is the only good thing I can think of, about 20 minutes from Madrid. The hotel doesn’t look like the photos or description: it’s dated and falling apart, and the balcony tiles were broken and dirty. The bedroom and bathroom were old, there was no fridge, and the TV had old plugs dangling down that felt unsafe for the kids. Breakfast was poor, with little choice beyond bread and store-bought croissants in plastic bags. I don’t know who gave this place 3 stars, because it definitely doesn’t deserve them.

The rooms are very old, and the air conditioning blew cold air instead of warm. The receptionists explained nothing about breakfast, lunch, or anything else. Staff weren’t helpful, and asking for something seemed to bother them. Better to stay away from this place like the plague.

The room was large, the bed comfortable, and the towels and bedding were soft, clean, and white. The bathroom was clean but looked very tired and needs refurbishing. The gardens and pool are a nice extra, especially for children, and I could conveniently walk my dog. Free parking was right outside my room. Check-in was friendly and efficient, and the gentleman spoke English. He explained the WiFi, breakfast hours, and parking without me having to ask.

The photos are a lie. This hotel was awful, with the whole place feeling old, worn out, unsafe, and dirty.
