Georgiana at the front desk saved us when we had trouble canceling some onward arrangements and making new ones. She contacted the local travel company and sorted it out, and we couldn't have managed without her. We stayed two nights, first in a standard room and then in a spacious room with a balcony overlooking the garden and beach below. The standard room had a similar view. Breakfast was a memorable treat, served à la carte on a terrace above the beach with fresh fruit and other choices. The staff also helped book us into another hotel. It's right in the town centre, a few steps off the main road and central plaza.

The breakfasts were wonderful and a bargain at 9€ per person. You get a freshly cooked omelette, lots of fruit, yoghurt, bread, spreads, cheese, ham and cake, all served on a terrace with a fabulous sea view. Breakfast staff were friendly, efficient and helpful with English translations. Irene at reception was especially kind and helpful, and speaks perfect English! Service overall was warm and friendly. It's within walking distance of the old streets, tapas bars and restaurants, which lead down to the picturesque port. Rooms facing the road are noisy with traffic, even with double glazing, though I suppose that's unavoidable.

The breakfast and friendly hosts were the highlights. There was an abundant choice of delicious food, and the staff made lots of things possible for us, including tastings. The location is perfect, and the rooms are clean and a good size for two, with nice bathrooms. I honestly don't understand why it officially has only one star. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Getaria.

The building is old and full of character, and the bedrooms and bathrooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast is great, and you're close to lots of bars, restaurants and the harbour. Everyone is so welcoming and friendly. Love it.

Great service and an excellent breakfast, in a nice location. It can get a bit noisy at night from car traffic, and the rooms feel a little outdated. The lighting could be much more comfortable, and there are no bedside reading lights or shower soap holder.
