The building has a lovely historic feel, even though the rooms are old. They were still comfortable and clean. Right on Gijon's boulevard, it's a handy place to start a visit to the city.

The location was the only real asset, and the place was clean. But for a hotel rated four stars, this felt more like a two or three. It's very old and needs maintenance. There was no shower door or bottled water in the room, and the towels were thin and very low quality.

No AC, and the bath is barely big enough to get into. This place should be two stars. I'll leave it at that and let the pictures speak for themselves.

We loved Gijon and thought the hotel would be a lovely honeymoon spot. We're from California, USA, and the Cantabrian Sea looks a lot like the Pacific along our coast. The old-fashioned charm stood out, especially the beautiful staircase. The floors creak a lot, but I think that adds to the feel. We skipped breakfast there, then returned for lunch. The food and service were perfect.
