Balenax Pensión

It's a simple one-star hotel, but very clean, and you can walk to the beach in minutes. Restaurants and shops are close by. There's a small shared kitchen with free coffee, tea, toast, and cereal, which you make yourself. The host was kind and helpful and speaks English. They also kept my bags for a few hours after checkout.

The host was fantastic, welcoming us and offering helpful suggestions for places to see and spots to eat and drink. She speaks perfect English, so don't hesitate to call her. English isn't that common in Gijon yet. We loved the colorful themed rooms, which were very comfortable. It's in a superb spot, close to the old town, beach, and shopping district, while still on a quiet street. We'll be back!

Andrea runs the place and is really kind. She speaks English well and will patiently answer all your questions. The location is a 10/10, with so much within a five-minute walk that I didn't need a car, taxi, or even a bicycle. My room had everything I needed: a closet, a fairly spacious bathroom, a small desk and chair for my laptop, and a comfy bed. I still can't believe how low the price was for what I got.

The rooms are nice, the price is cheap, and the location is great. Staff were friendly and laid-back, and the woman at the front desk speaks English.
