We stayed for 4 nights over the 2025-2026 New Years eve. The beautiful views over Girona, as the name BellaVista suggests, and the rare parking spots, though paid, were two positives. Beyond those, it was a very disappointing stay, much like the negative comments others have left. The hotel looks good in photos, but that impression faded quickly. The reception felt unfriendly, with a torn sofa and plenty of other old, worn, scratched, or damaged furnishings. Our room was very tired and nowhere near worth the price. We paid well over 400 Euros the night of New Years. The towels were thin and frayed, and only spare toiletry was offered. The front desk staff weren’t welcoming or friendly. Breakfast at 17Euros pp was an acceptable price, but the food was poor quality. For two days in a row I watched ants marching up and down the buffet area, and of course told the team. There was a coffee machine by reception, but it cost 2 Euros for a tiny cup. Management was especially disappointing. It wasn’t clear whether anyone was in charge, and there seemed to be no guidance or rules. On New Years night, the hotel appeared fairly full, but there was no event for guests. The reception sitting area had 8 small tables with 4 chairs each. They were occupied, while many other guests walked around looking for somewhere to sit and have a drink. Staff did nothing to find them another place, and there was no help or arrangements for guests on such an important night. The hotel could have had plenty of business. Since it’s high up on a hill and a considerable walk from the old town, foreign guests stayed in, disappointed as we were. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

Visited in mid-Jan 2026. I picked this hotel so I could get to mountain bike trails and castles to the east, while still being able to cycle around inner Girona. With a bike, it’s a great base for seeing a lot in a couple of days. I was happy with the room, parking, general cleanliness, dinner, and the staff service. Unfortunately there was no kettle, and I thought it could be cheaper.

We got a complimentary upgrade, which was brilliant. The room was clean, with a huge bed, spacious bathroom, little living room, and fridge. The decor was a bit dated, but the staff were very helpful and breakfast, included in our booking, was nice and covered what we needed, though a little basic. The pool is smaller than the photos suggest, but good for cooling off. There were only 6 sun loungers for the large pool area, which wasn’t quite enough for the guests staying while we were there. Food by the pool was delicious, and I think it was the nicest Aperol spritz I’ve ever had. I’d rate the stay 4.5 /5. It’s up a hill and a 10-15mins walk from the busier area.

The rooms are very tired and badly need updating, but we still had a positive stay. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful, and the room was cleaned to a good standard every day. We liked relaxing in the lounge and on the terrace, where snack and drink prices were very reasonable. We tried the restaurant several times and enjoyed its great food selection. The location worked well for exploring Girona and Costa Brava, with free parking, a short walk to the town centre despite the steep hill, and easy access by car to the surrounding area.

Parking is plentiful, and the staff are nice, but I can’t think of many other positives. The pool is tiny, more like a large jacuzzi, and even though the area around it is huge, there’s hardly any shade. Inside, the rooms feel basic and dated, with paint coming off and no kettle or coffee machine. It really doesn’t feel like a four-star hotel. I wouldn’t recommend it.
