We got some sleep, but left very early because we wanted out of there. The room, I think 220, smelled of cigarettes as soon as we opened the door. At least the window opened, and I had air freshener with me. There were burn marks on the floor by the beds, no kettle for tea or coffee, broken air conditioning, and rock-hard mattresses. First time trying a budget place, and I can see why. I won’t stay at a budget ibis again.

The room was missing basic things like glasses, and they wanted 30 cents for plastic cutlery to take back to the room. The location is handy, especially if you’re driving, with easy motorway access and lots of free parking around the hotel.

Just beyond the old town, the location worked well. The room was comfortable and clean, and there’s free street parking or paid parking that’s more secure.

The check-in staff were really nice and helpful, which I appreciated. But I wasn’t expecting anything fancy from a budget hotel, and the unflushed toilet, empty soap bottle by the sink, and sticky-looking marks near the bed put me off. It’s made me think twice about staying at Ibis again.

Paying for parking was a total nightmare this time. It’s subcontracted since my last visit, and I had to scan a QR code and try to pay underground with no signal. I eventually found machines upstairs at the hotel to pay online, but the whole thing was very unsatisfactory. I’ve stayed here several times, and the place is looking tired. Breakfast was very mediocre this time too. This is probably the worst Ibis I’ve stayed at, and I’ve been to many. If a new manager or management team is behind the changes, they need pulling up by the socks.
