Hotel America

We only tried the restaurant, not the other services. The terrace is lovely, but the meal quality didn’t match the price. We ordered chicken and rabbit; both seemed to have been cooked in the same pot with the same sauce, which wasn’t a big issue. The problem was finding pieces of broken bone throughout both dishes. We spent so long picking them out of our mouths that the rest of the food went cold.

We had just 36 hours in Granada and wanted to see as much of the Alhambra as we could, so this hotel’s location worked perfectly. The food was very good and reasonably priced. Our room was clean, tastefully updated, and still had plenty of charm. Staff were friendly and very helpful.

We didn’t stay at the hotel, but came here for lunch while sightseeing at the Alhambra Palace. It’s a lovely courtyard setting, though the restaurant is tiny and we waited about 30 minutes in line. The atmosphere was great, and we loved the menu, food, and beer. The one letdown was the bread: it cost extra, came without butter, and wasn’t enjoyable.

We went into the cafe for coffee, but left without ordering. Our six-year-old son got excited about something and pointed it out to us, speaking at a moderate volume. An older employee immediately told him off.
