The location is the sole good thing about Carmen Vistas de la Alhambra. A business tourism company manages the property, but the facilities aren't maintained or repaired. The kitchen lacks equipment, and the pots were peeling and not fit for cooking. We also had a lot of communication trouble because we don't speak Spanish, including basic things like finding the keys. They take a 200 euro deposit, then charged us 45 euros for parking even though we didn't park there. We asked about the parking beforehand and chose to leave the car farther away when we learned it cost extra. We only stopped for 20 minutes to unload our luggage, but they still charged us and refused to refund it. Booking stayed neutral and didn't help. We won't come back to this hotel in Granada. There are plenty of other good places, so stay elsewhere if you want to avoid trouble.

Most things are an easy walk from this well located place, and parking is available for an extra daily fee. The rooms were comfortable and fairly clean, although we had to take out the bins left by previous guests. The shower room needs attention: it was mouldy and smelled musty.

What a rip off! The listing on Booking promised a rural, Granada feel, but the place turned out to have poor conditions and sanitation, with worn out furniture. A relative had told me not to stay there, and they were right.

The bedroom was comfortable, but the shower room is far too small for a normally sized person. Check-in starts after 5pm, and communication was a little difficult because not everyone there speaks English well. The reception staff and the cleaning lady were very nice, though. There's free parking and the place is close to the city centre, but driving in the old town is restricted. Once you enter, you can't freely drive in and out, so stay outside the old town if you want more freedom with your car. It's good value for a one or two day visit focused on the old town and Alhambra, which is a 20 minute walk away. The shower may be an issue if you're a bigger person.
