Don’t assume you’re getting a bargain on a three-star hotel because of the location. This feels like a very cheap place, barely above a hostel. The interior is poor and badly renovated, cleanliness ranges from average to poor, and the toilet sink is a piece of plywood nailed to the wall. Reception hours are very limited, replies to messages are late, though they do show some flexibility with check-in, as they should. The photos here and on Booking.com seem to show only the few decent angles and may be edited. To be clear, I’m reviewing this as a three-star hotel, and it is not one.

We stayed two nights and felt the price was great for what we got. The service was great, and our huge, clean room looked out over a lovely square in Granada’s old town. The hotel is right in the heart of the city, with major sights nearby, including the cathedral just two minutes away.

The room was spacious, with comfortable beds and a small refrigerator, though there was no coffee maker. The bathroom looked modern and clean, but had a few minor maintenance and cosmetic problems that need attention. Staff were helpful and kindly changed our reservation and held our bags until the room was ready. We enjoyed our two days in February and would recommend the hotel for a short stay. Its location is ideal for exploring old Granada, with plenty of tapas bars, cafes, restaurants, historic sights, and views of the Alhambra nearby. The area was still lively with families in the evenings and on weekends, even in winter.

We booked through Booking.com and said we’d arrive around 17:00-18:00. We got there at 17:55, but nobody was at the hotel, despite its claim of 24/7 customer service in our language. Before arrival we’d received key collection instructions, but couldn’t understand them or find the key. We called twice using the number left at the front desk and got no answer, then sent a message through Booking.com with no reply. After an hour, tired from the long trip and hungry, and facing the headache of parking in Granada’s old town, we booked somewhere else because we thought we’d been scammed. More than an hour later, someone finally contacted us on Whatsapp asking where we were. We told them we’d already booked another hotel and had been left on our own. The worst part is that we were charged for the entire stay under the 100% cancellation policy, even though we hadn’t cancelled. We had to find another place in an unfamiliar city. We’ll see what happens, but we plan to contact consumer rights about it. If you can, steer clear of this property and host.

The location and service were both great, though the beds squeaked a little. On a hot afternoon I couldn’t turn on the air conditioning. I was told it’s only available in summer because the hotel uses a central heating and cooling system, so when the heater is on, the AC can’t be used. That didn’t really make sense to me. Otherwise, we had a good stay.
