Room Mate Leo, Granada

Once we were checked in, the stay was comfortable. The hotel is nice, with modern, clean rooms, a good location, and a pleasant rooftop. But getting to that point was stressful and frustrating. A week before we arrived, I was told the card on file couldn’t be charged because it had expired. That happens, but I wasn’t sent a payment link to update it and was instead told to contact the hotel. I emailed several times and heard nothing for days. When they finally replied, they said they’d send a link, but it never came. The next day they cancelled the reservation without warning, so I had to book the room again myself at a higher rate to make sure we had somewhere to stay. At check-in I had to ask more than once for the original rate to be honored. It eventually was, but sorting it out took over 45 minutes at the front desk. The staff member was polite, though seemed overwhelmed or very slow, and the whole process was needlessly complicated after the lead-up. One towel was visibly and heavily stained when we got to the room, which was surprising since everything else was clean. It’s a shame, because the location, rooms, and amenities are good, but the communication and check-in really took away from what should have been an easy, enjoyable stay.

The hotel is right in the centro area, handy for bus stations, sightseeing, and shopping. It’s very nice and clean, and everything looks brand new. I guess it was built or renovated recently. The staff were lovely, and I wish I’d stayed an extra night instead of heading back to Sevilla. For Asian travelers reading this, there’s a bidet with adjustable temperature 😆 I’ll definitely come back next time I’m in Granada.

The room was spacious, clean, and well-appointed, and the staff were friendly. Several great restaurants are just around the corner. Many of Granada’s main sights are a quick walk away, and the bus stop for places further out is 5-10 minutes on foot. I skipped the hotel breakfast because there are better options nearby for less. Would stay again!

The breakfast was excellent, and the rooftop pool has stunning views across the city, including the Alhambra and the Cathedral. It’s very small and shallow, though, more like a jacuzzi. The hotel is right in the heart of the city, and there’s nearby public parking with a discount if you check with the hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was disappointing: it was beside the elevator, had two single beds instead of a double, a bright green emergency light pointed at the bed that made sleeping hard, and a leaking sink tap. The hotel was very accommodating about the issues.
