Camping Fuente de Regustrán

The cabin was really run down and not cheap. There were ants on the floor, and the blankets didn’t look clean. We stayed one night, and that was enough.

A man parked his car in my spot, even though I only had a small tent. I told him I didn’t like the car being there. He moved it one meter, but it was still in my spot, and said, “No, it’s good like this.”

The location is great, close to the river and the village, and there’s a real Spanish atmosphere. The restaurant has a great menu del dia, enjoyed by locals too. Visitors can get free tickets to the municipal swimming pool right beside the campground. It has three pools and is excellent, with young and old enjoying the sun in a relaxed setting. The staff are very friendly and helpful as well. There are a lot of permanently parked caravans, and the showers and toilets are basic. That’s why I’m giving it four stars.

The staff were friendly and helpful, but I can’t recommend the campsite. The facilities are pretty tired, and when I visited in June, empty caravans took up most of the site, including all the plots near the bathrooms. It’s a bit noisy beside the road, and I guess the river brings mosquitoes too.
