Las Casetas de Mateu

We booked two houses for 15 people and had a very comfortable stay. The owner was kind and attentive throughout. There was a small problem with the pool and it had to be drained, but they immediately offered to cover our entry to the municipal pool, which was a thoughtful gesture we really appreciated. A couple of kitchen items were missing, like a hand blender and an extra tea towel. The heatwave also made it hard to sleep at night, so ceiling fans might help. We wished there were a supermarket in the village, since there's nothing to buy there, but Graus was only a 10-minute trip away.

The village is quiet, and the house is lovely, clean, comfortable, and set up well for families. The owners were very friendly too. My main concern was privacy: there were no curtains, and the attic room had no blinds, so the early light made it hard to sleep. The garden, entrance gate, and little pool are shared by three houses. We were in the middle one, and the corner house by the pool had four dogs that kept relieving themselves and trying to get into the other houses. We brought our own dog, but couldn't let him into the garden because of the other residents and to avoid conflict. This wasn't the homeowners' fault, of course. It really depends on how considerate the neighboring tenants are, whether they have dogs or not. Temporary fences might help.

We had a wonderful four days and three nights, and would happily come back. The place was spotless, peaceful, and in a good location. Sleeping was a little uncomfortable because there were fans in the dining room but none in the bedrooms. Everything else was great. Thanks!

We stayed six nights as a family in one of Mateu's cabins, and the pool was a real treat. The house was very clean and had everything we needed. Mateu's family were so welcoming, sharing lots of information about the area and places to visit. Thanks to all of them, and especially Julia for her wonderful work. Highly recommended, we'll be back!
