La Posada de Grimaldo

It was easy to find, just off the main road, and there’s off-street parking. Inside, the old building has been modernised with a really distinctive interior. The shared kitchen and dining area were good, and my private bathroom was lovely. The bed was comfortable too.

The owners were extremely friendly and helpful when they welcomed us. The location is perfect for visiting the bird reserve Monfrague. We found the rooms and kitchen very pleasant, with all the amenities we needed, and everything was very clean, including the bedding and towels. The AC worked very well, so we could manage easily despite temperatures of 42 C. If we’d stayed longer, a swimming pool would have been a nice extra.

Sonia was really helpful, going over our options and the next day’s route, and she managed to arrange a lunch reservation at short notice. There’s a washing machine and plenty of room to dry clothes, which was a great bonus as a peregrino. The breakfast was lovely, with lots of fresh fruit and filter coffee, and the kitchen was very well equipped. It’s a lovely, quiet place close to both the motorway and Camino. I haven’t added more pictures since the ones already posted show what a lovely place it is.

The place has a lot of thoughtful detail inside and out, and it’s lovely, much like the owners. I was on my own, though the shared kitchen seemed like a good place to hang out. They don’t speak English, but they go out of their way to explain where things are and how they work, so I needed some extra help communicating with their son over the phone.
