They took my last-minute phone booking and got a room ready for me, and she was very friendly. It’s a great place to stay if you’re cycling, since I could keep my bike inside. The apartment had a kitchen for cooking and even some snacks. There’s also a bar next door with drinks and frozen pizza.
It’s a handy base for exploring nearby towns and the many hiking routes, including several that start right in the village. The apartment was spacious, clean, and fully equipped, with heating that stayed at a comfortable temperature and adjusted automatically. My one gripe was the sofa: it felt a little narrow and wasn’t very comfortable, so that could be improved. Still, I’d happily return and recommend it.
We stayed with our dog and had a great experience. They made everything easy for us, and the service was impeccable. The apartments were spotless and decorated with care. We left very happy and will definitely come back.
The people here are very welcoming and love sharing stories about their land. It’s a transhumant village with plenty to offer, and Mariano, the mayor, is kind and knows a lot about the village and the surrounding area. Guadalaviar itself has a wonderful setting and very friendly people. Lahuerta accommodation is in a privileged spot, and Ana, who runs it, does everything she can to make your stay unforgettable. The bar downstairs is a very pleasant place too.
We’ve stayed twice in the past month, with my partner and son, and the apartments have been very clean, welcoming, and carefully thought out down to the little details. The manager is friendly, attentive, and offers impeccable service. The views are excellent, and the place is right in the heart of the Montes Universales mountains, which makes its location feel especially privileged. Dogs are allowed, which matters a lot to us.
