Casa rural 3. Los castañuelos

The property looks pretty, but our stay was a bad experience. The cabins were dark and hot, with no fan, so we felt we had to leave during the day. The rooms also looked dark and dirty, and the cabin photos were very misleading, more like a school camp. We speak fluent Spanish, but the rules about our dog were never explained until we arrived. The hosts live on site, and we didn’t find them welcoming. Their dogs could roam freely in the yard, while we were told ours had to stay on a leash outside and be shut in our room. I felt the host acted as if she were doing us a favor by letting us stay. Another strange thing was being led around the property for 40 minutes while someone tried to sell us a different room from the one we’d booked. Honestly, I’d avoid it, there are plenty of other options nearby. Some people have had good stays, so maybe our host was just having a bad day. But even without those issues, the cabins didn’t look like their pictures.

We spent a couple of nights between an apartment and the yurt with my girlfriend, and had a wonderful stay. Mateo was polite, helpful, and quick to communicate. The place was very clean, with a great location and an exceptional view. I’d definitely recommend this unique spot.

Casa Rural Alba Montis is beautifully situated, with several Sierra Nevada hiking trail starting points easy to reach. Susana and Matteo were wonderful hosts, always up for a chat, happy to share tips, and able to prepare delicious meals. We loved our four nights there and would definitely return.

The host even helped sort out a car problem, which was amazing. Add the stunning view, clean bathroom and beautiful setting, and this place is an easy 10/10!
