La Senda de los Enebros

We still haven't stayed in the rooms, so I can't speak to those, though I imagine they're as good as the rest. The place has become a favorite of ours, even though it's a little out of the way. That distance is part of what keeps it so charming and peaceful. We've eaten here several times, and each visit the food has been great, the staff attentive, and the surroundings wonderfully quiet.

The seven donkeys wandering around the wide, natural grounds deserve 11 out of 10. It's lovely seeing them live so freely, and dogs are welcome too. The hotel sits out in nature, which is a big part of its appeal, though the closest large supermarket is about 40-50 km away. Country roads can take time, so plan several stops if you want to see much of Castile. The landscapes and cultural sights make the drive worthwhile, and a few words of Spanish help in this pleasantly little-visited region. This is a small hotel run with real care, in a beautiful and quiet part of Castile. The hostess and her team are warm, attentive, and genuine, and make you feel welcome as soon as you arrive. It's spotless and has everything you need. Breakfast is superb and runs until 11 a.m., so there's no rush to get going. Dinner is excellent too, with regional food prepared thoughtfully. A lovely insider tip for anyone after peace, nature, and genuine hospitality. I'd return in a heartbeat.

The setting was beautiful, from the surroundings to the house and restaurant. We visited on May 3rd for a birthday, and they decorated the table and played music for the occasion. They handled the allergies very professionally, and every dish was delicious. We're so grateful for the excellent cuisine and service.

The access road is a bit rough, but the trip is worth it. We went for lunch as a family and were pleasantly surprised by the welcoming place, lovely natural setting, and incredible views across the whole mountain range. The service was quick and good, and the food was excellent, with superb quality. Highly recommended.
