Senator Huelva Hotel

We had a balcony on the sixth floor, which was lovely, and the location is great. The place could use some attention, though: it looks a bit worn, with threadbare corridor carpets and furniture that needs replacing. Still, we'd definitely stay again.

The service and upkeep of the rooms made this feel like it could be a four-star hotel. It's a great local spot in Huelva, close to the town squares and within walking distance of some of the best authentic Spanish tapas restaurants in Huelva.

The night was awful. I woke up covered in bites on my face and body that I believe were from bedbugs, and loud noise kept waking me more than 20 times. I couldn't tell whether it came from neighbors, the road, or somewhere else. The air conditioning also wasn't working properly, and the shower head wouldn't stay in place, so I had to hold it while showering. I requested one large bed when I booked, but was given two singles. Try to avoid this hotel if you can.

The location is excellent, with plenty of good restaurants within walking distance, and the bathroom was nice. The front desk staff were very friendly, and the price reflects the basic stay. It was clean, and we could open the windows for a feel of city life, though secondhand cigarette smoke could quickly drift in. There are connecting rooms for a family of four. The rooms are small, with basic, firm beds that aren't very comfortable. Ours faced the main street, and the rooms were noisy, the walls thin, and the curtains didn't block out the light. We stayed on the third floor in early July, and it was hot all night. The AC was set as cold as possible, but the temperature probably never dropped below 75 Fahrenheit. It also switches off when you leave, so the room is hot when you return. The parking garage is extremely tight and only suitable for tiny cars. Don't take a midsize or larger car in, or you could damage it. Three stars at best.
