Quinta Real Granada

We drove to all the places we wanted to visit, since being closer to Granada wasn't a priority for us. The hotel was very clean and quiet, with spacious rooms, friendly staff, and a very reasonable price. I was really happy with it overall. My only complaint was that the stuffing in one pillow had bunched up.

We paid double what this room seemed worth, maybe 80 euro, though at least parking was free. It was cramped, with so little room that one of us had to sit on the bed for the other to pass, even by European standards. The bed sagged on one side and the room was freezing. Our supposed balcony was shared and faced a busy street. The jacuzzi wasn't working since Covid, the terrazzo was closed since Covid, and when we returned from the city at 10 PM, the bar was shut. I'd read that the rooms were large, but ours wasn't. Nothing matched what was advertised.

At breakfast, the room was 28 degrees celcius and felt like an oven. When I asked for coffee, the attendant politely pointed me to a tassimo. I asked for a menu and was brought orange juice with 2 slices of ham and 2 slices of cheese. I wanted an omelette or any egg breakfast, but was told it wasn't possible because they didn't have a chef. Before that, I'd asked reception about breakfast and was told someone would prepare what I liked and that I could order from the menu. I also requested a double room with a double Bed, but got 2 singles with bumpy mattresses and paper thin blankets, so I didn't sleep well. The hotel looked ok when I arrived, but what was promised didn't match what was delivered. It was extremely lack lustre, and I won't stay again or recommend it. Better value is available elsewhere.

The rooms were clean and spacious, and there's parking in the hotel yard. Granada isn't far by car, though I'm not sure about public transport. Breakfast was very simple, with few choices.
