The room was filthy, with hairs on the sink, floor and even the walls. Nobody came to clean or change towels during our three days, and by day three the bin was overflowing. The balcony was dirty and looked onto a back street full of rubbish. The walls were so thin we could hear everything from the rooms above and beside us. We happened to be there during the floods, which I understand were outside the employees’ control. But the way the hotel handled it was awful. We had no water for almost a day and a half, not even enough to flush the toilet. Twice we asked for a bucket so we could flush with pool water, but it never arrived. I ended up taking the bin from our room to the pool myself. The room phone was broken, so I had to call reception on my own phone. When I tried to ask questions, I kept getting interrupted with “if you let me finish.” I told the man on the phone not to give me attitude given the circumstances, and he said I was the one with the bad attitude. I asked for a manager, who immediately called me a guest with a bad attitude without even knowing what had happened. He said I could get my money back and leave HIS venue if I kept going. I was appalled. We’d been left without help or communication, and they were speaking to us like that. I was told I only cared about my shower and the water not working, rather than what had happened around us. I couldn’t believe the way they spoke to me. After paying 200 euro a night, I think it’s reasonable to wonder when I can flush the toilet or take a shower. After talking to my friend, I called the front desk again and told a different woman we accepted the offer of a refund and would leave. She then said I’d misunderstood: there was no refund, and I could leave and book somewhere else with my own money. I work in hospitality and would never treat a guest that way. I left angry and disappointed. I can see other guests have also had issues with staff being impolite, and I’m glad we can point it out. They can deny it or blame guests, as they did, but the people with the bad attitude were at the front desk. Save your money and go somewhere else.

Our room had a marvelous, stunning view, and the staff took care of every request quickly and thoughtfully. The welcome at reception was warm and professional, and we felt valued and satisfied from the moment we arrived. We had a wonderful stay.

No fuss at all when we asked to move from our standard room because of noisy neighbours. The staff apologised, explaining they couldn’t control the noise, and arranged another room for us. Excellent service, and thank you for a wonderful experience and great holiday memories.

The pool area is lovely, the location is great, and everything was spotlessly clean. Antonia at the front desk was professional and helpful, and clearly takes a lot of pride in her work.
