Hotel Alcázar - Irún centro

Parking was simple, with plenty of spaces, and the hotel was clean and good value. I really liked the breakfast and its pleasant dining area, with all the usual things like coffee and bread. The room was straightforward, and the air conditioning worked well even with temperatures close to 40°C. This little independent place has a lovely feel. The reception, lobby and lounge are so welcoming, and the decor and design are beautifully done. Take a look at the staircase and woodwork, they’re stunning. I wish I’d spent longer in the sitting area. Highly recommend it, and hope they keep things just as they are.

The high price took the fun out of what otherwise felt like stepping back into 1980s Spain. There was a pink toilet and sink, old-fashioned furniture and rugs, and the kitchenette was something else. I was just missing my grandma’s crochet on the sofa.

We came back for a second visit in 2024, and it was very nice. They even gave my dog some treats. On our first stay in August 2021, our car was having trouble and our insurance arranged for us to stay here. The rooms are pretty and spacious, and we loved having a balcony. Pets are allowed. Breakfast didn’t have many choices, but it was nice.

I was impressed by the value for the price. Breakfast had a few vegan choices, including good bread, tomato spreads and jams, and you can ask for soy milk. The staff were really friendly, and the place feels like you’re a guest rather than just a room number. It’s in the city centre, with a lovely green garden and parking between the hotel and the street. Inside is nicely decorated, and our room was quiet, with shutters to keep the daylight out if you want to sleep in.
