The owner is welcoming and very friendly. Rooms are simple, but they do the job and have private bathrooms. A good, no-frills hostel with relatively good value for money.

The food was fine, though the restaurant itself doesn't have much charm. Rooms are clean and practical. First-floor rooms can be a little noisy, while getting the peace and quiet on the third floor means taking the stairs, since there's no lift. The showers are over bathtubs, which may be hard for some people to get into.

The staff were super helpful and translated the menu into English for us, item by item. The menu was very good, and the fillet steak with sweetbread and wine sauce was exceptional. Get there on time at 8pm or book ahead, so you don't miss out.

The village is gorgeous, and there's plenty nearby for day trips, all within a 30 min drive: hiking, climbing, swimming in the river, walking in the forest, and bird watching. The hotel is incredible and has fully equipped suites too. It's in the most famous valley of Spanish and French middle age literature, the song of Roldan!
