The Basque Country is so beautiful, and we found plenty to explore by car, with free parking at the hotel. We visited places like Lekeitio, Gernika and a surfing beach, then went to Bilbao and Bermeo by metro from Gernika. We spent 12 days here and felt very welcome. The hosts were so hospitable. Our room was lovely and clean, with a wide, amazing view from the window. The garden was beautifully kept, and around sunset deer grazed nearby each day. We also watched birds of prey circling over the forest, and the night sky was full of stars. We only speak Dutch and English. Luckily, many people in the Basque Country spoke English or found someone nearby who could. When that wasn't possible, we tried to understand each other using our own languages and gestures. Everyone was helpful. A fantastic stay, and one we'd happily repeat.

The surroundings were magical, such a special, peaceful spot in the north that was perfect for switching off. My partner and I stayed here some time ago, and the rooms were cozy, comfortable and spotless. The couple running the place were lovely. After we left them a note thanking them for their hospitality, they put a little something in our room. Such a thoughtful gesture. We'd gladly come back.

The food was a highlight, with delicious dinners and breakfasts, and Ander was a very attentive host. He explained what there was to see nearby and made us feel at home. We were lucky to find this charming rural hotel for two nights while touring the coastal towns of the Basque Country. The restored farmhouse is dreamy, and the surroundings are beautiful and peaceful. I don't know if we'll be back in the area, but if we are, we'll definitely stay here again.

A lovely place to unwind, with a house the owners restored while keeping its original style. There are surprising little details in every corner. The owners are so warm, it feels truly luxurious, and I recommend having dinner there. It's also a good base for exploring the different towns.
