There wasn’t anyone at the hostel when we arrived, even though they knew we were coming. It took over an hour to get in touch. For the price, it was clean enough, but the bath and shower area felt like an accident waiting to happen. The bar wasn’t open, and breakfast was poor and very limited, with only tea or coffee to choose from. Stay here only if there’s nowhere else available.

I can’t really judge the rooms, but I want to warn people about the way I was treated on the phone. I politely tried to ask in English whether they spoke English, and they rudely hung up as soon as I asked, “Do you speak English?” Imagine.

It was okay.

The location is excellent, but the low price ended up costing too much in other ways. The building and room felt old, neglected, and abandoned. There were stained sheets, a chipped bathtub, plastic cups with no sealed bags to show they were unused, and no fan during hot weather. Noise was another problem: it started as early as 5:30 a.m., continued at night after midnight, and the thin walls let you hear everything. Getting in also felt unsafe and poorly managed. There’s no reception. Of the three doors, the building door was always open, the hostel door was meant to have a code but was open 90% of the time, and the room door was left open so you could collect the key. That door was old, weak, and didn’t fit its frame properly. A hard push could break it. The contact number was unavailable most of the day, with no answer until after 7 p.m.; there was no other way to reach anyone, and nobody was at the hostel until 7-7:10 p.m. We checked later and found much better hostels and hotels in the area for €4-5 more.
