We had several rooms booked since October 2019 for the end of March 2020. After all that time, the owner suddenly canceled the reservation today without warning or contacting us. We tried to reach him, but couldn't get through and he seems to have disappeared. The person, business owner, and service are disgusting. I hope nobody stays there and that his seedy dive has to close. Sincerely.

I have traveled a lot, and this is the most problematic place I've come across. The owner is impossible to contact reliably, and says that if you arrive after 8 pm, he can charge you and still refuse you the room. I was caught in heavy downtown Jaén traffic and very stressed. I got my son out of the car at the guesthouse to try to park; he went in and was told that if I wasn't there by 8 pm, I would be charged, my original IDs would be kept, and I wouldn't get the room. I arrived five minutes early and warned him about the room irregularity. He lost my IDs, then told Booking.com I hadn't been there, so I couldn't leave a review, even though I have his handwritten receipt. I've filed a complaint with Booking.com and sent the receipt. The owner told them he had canceled my reservation. Be careful with this guy, he'll end up in trouble.

We had already paid for the room, but the man said he wouldn't refund us because the guesthouse closes at 8 pm. We went back to complain the next morning, and he repeated that the place shut at 8 and refused to return the money. Apparently he lives there, which makes it even more deplorable. Anywhere is better than that. We reached Jaén at 7:30 pm, but a demonstration had blocked almost all of the city center. At 7:50 we called to say we'd be a few minutes late. He knew about the demonstration, yet said he was leaving at 8 whether we arrived or not. I ran from the car and got there at 8:05, but he was already gone. When I called at 8:06 asking him to let us in, his phone was off. A girl staying there went up with me to try to help, but we couldn't contact him.

We were left having to find another hotel and pay again after the owner resold our room. We'd arranged to meet at a certain time, and when we arrived half an hour late, he had sold it despite keeping our money for a four-night reservation. It was two rooms and nearly 400 euros gone for four nights without getting the service. This is a terrible scam. The owner is a disgrace and a con artist. Never choose this place. People like him shouldn't play with our money or leave us victims.
