The customer service didn't come up with any real fix when I tried calling the number they provide. Water wouldn't drain properly in the bathroom, kitchen, or laundry room, and in the bathroom I had to bail it out by hand because I couldn't shower normally. The sheets were also too small to cover the mattress properly, which made the bed uncomfortable and seemed unsuitable for tourist accommodation. Now I see why they clearly say they don't offer refunds, since with problems like these plenty of people would ask for one. As things stand, I can't recommend the apartment, though proper maintenance and better service could improve it.

On the last day there was a major power cut, and I was stuck outside the apartment for five hours with no way in and nobody I could reach. Earlier, when I tried to use the dryer in another apartment after the washing machine broke, the power went out completely. Someone spent two hours fiddling with it before it came back, and after that the jacuzzi stopped working too. I checked the fuse box, and one fuse was still blown and wouldn't reset. Plugging it in tripped the main fuse. The next day I had no hot water either. The same guy came back, spent hours tinkering and was on the phone almost the whole time, then told me I'd have to wait until the next day. I'd spent all day at the racetrack and was drenched in sweat, so I really wanted a shower. By the following day they'd fixed everything, including the washing machine, but when I finally checked it the day after that, the rubber seal was covered in grease and tiny metal shavings. It was an ancient machine, and when I first opened it there'd been an error message and no water was coming in. Someone had looked at it and said it couldn't be repaired before I left. Nobody dealt with the musty smell from the jacuzzi when I lifted its cover, either. The place was worn out all over: a toaster tilted because it was missing feet on one side, a kitchen cupboard had a crooked door and a flap that wouldn't stay open, plaster crumbled in the hallway so it needed sweeping daily, and the bedroom air felt stale because the window couldn't be reached. There was no bathroom ventilation. The repair guy messed up the bathroom floor while fixing the boiler and didn't clean it up. I had to take out the trash and clean the apartment myself before leaving. They ignored my refund request and offered a free dinner at the repair guy's restaurant instead, which was nowhere near enough for all the trouble.

We booked three apartments in Jerez de la Frontera for a weekend, and they were beautiful, comfortable, very clean, and in an unbeatable location. The staff were attentive throughout. We'll definitely be back, thanks to them for looking after us.
