Hipotels Sherry Park

Everyone on the staff was very friendly and helpful, which made the visit even nicer. We had a wonderful stay at Hipotels Sherry Park in Jerez de la Frontera. The breakfast had a great range of fresh, tasty options. Our room was nice and very clean, and the whole hotel was spotless and well maintained. We'll definitely come back!

The buffet food was our main disappointment on the package tour. There was a wide salad selection, but the hot dishes weren't very appetising. It's a four-star hotel set in its own grounds. The rooms are a good size and each has a balcony. The bathroom was good, with a large shower cubicle.

The pool and spa were being repaired, but that wasn't mentioned when we booked, even though they were included in the price. Parking was also double the normal rate: €18 through booking.com instead of the usual €9. Service was the worst when booking via booking.com. I'm not sure why this is a four-star hotel.

The hotel was beautifully laid out and decorated, and most of the staff were faultless. The people in charge, though, seemed to have come from the Spanish Secret Service. There was no information in the room about the air con or television, so I had to go all the way to reception to ask. There was no room service phone number, no USB plugs, and no tea or coffee making facilities. The room service menu listed meals but no drinks. It's probably the most bizarre hotel I've stayed in. Even getting pool towels was inconsistent. My wife and I asked the lifeguard for two at the outdoor pool one day and got them without questions. A couple of days later, we asked again and were told we needed a ticket from reception. My wife pointed out that we hadn't needed one before. The lifeguard explained that the person on duty had been different. Odd!
