Jeys Catedral Jerez

We came hoping to get some rest, but the noise from an electric box right beside our dated room kept us awake. The bathroom badly needs a scrub and an update, too. Parking was a nightmare, even though we paid the hotel's parking fee. No comfort or quality here.

This is a charming old-style place, with a sweet balcony and a location close to the police station and an easy walk from the main tourist spots. Just don't expect luxury. The bathtub leaked all over the floor, and the shower curtain is so small that anyone with a big build may not fit behind it.

The hotel is decent, as long as you don't expect too much. There isn't Wi-Fi in the rooms. We had two nice showers, but you need to go to the desk to get shampoo and soap.

We booked mainly because the listing on booking.com showed a rooftop terrace, but there isn't one. The hotel never replied when we messaged about it. Check-in was contact-free, which is handy in a COVID world, but we hadn't been told how it worked before arriving, and there was nobody else in the hotel. Our second-floor room had a nice view of the cathedral, but it wasn't very clean. There was builders' dust in the room, and the stairs and corridors looked like they hadn't been cleaned in a while. I doubt the handrails had been cleaned either. The shared living room style space was nice, but during our two-night stay it wasn't cleaned. There was a dirty fork, a mess on the table and a used ash tray, suggesting people had been smoking inside. Other than its location, the hotel didn't have much going for it. I wouldn't recommend it or return.
