La Posá

The Lácara dolmen is only about 8 km away and well worth seeing. The house itself is roomy and welcoming, right by the town square, with supermarkets and bars close by. It has what you need for a relaxing stay, including a traditional fireplace and pellet stove. The locals were very friendly, and Primi was especially kind.

We were pleasantly surprised by this rural place. The village is small and welcoming, and the owner was incredibly kind. It worked really well for our family of 4-5. If you like peace and quiet, you can also take short trips to Badajoz, Cáceres, or Mérida. We'll definitely come back.

The patio is a great place for summer breakfasts and dinners, and the barbecue is excellent. At midday it gets so hot outside that we preferred spending the day at one of the nearby reservoirs. Some comfortable garden furniture would make it nicer to sit out under the stars. Inside, the house is much better than the photos suggest. It's the ground floor of an old village inn, private, and stylishly decorated with antiques and modern art. High ceilings and thick walls keep it cool and quiet, church bells aside, and we didn't need the air conditioning. Both double bedrooms have ceiling fans, and the beds are very comfortable. The bathroom is small, with low shower flow and pressure, but that wasn't a problem for a weekend. The kitchen is old and has a butane stove, though with the barbecue and microwave we didn't really need it. There was everything we could possibly need, and more. The owner is lovely. Highly recommend it, especially with Mérida so close.

The hostess was a 10/10, and the house was spacious, lovely, and really cozy. It’s a great spot for a short break, with supermarkets, restaurants, bars, cafes, and lovely walks nearby. Highly recommended.
