Secrets Bahia Real

Breakfast became one of the highlights of our five-night stay. We were on a bed-and-breakfast basis, had plenty to choose from, and the food and service were excellent. We also ate at the Japanese restaurant and Mediterranean buffet, both enjoyable with delicious food and exceptional staff. We wanted a relaxing break and got exactly that. The pool area was beautiful, and there were always sunbeds available. We visited the spa once and only wished we’d used it more. Every staff member we met was welcoming and helped make the stay feel special. Our room was lovely, clean, spacious, and comfortable, with fresh towels and sheets each morning and chocolates left on our pillows after the curtains were drawn in the evening. We were pleasantly surprised to get a complimentary upgrade to a sea-view room. A kind gentleman helped with our luggage and showed us there, which was especially helpful in such a large hotel. We had a fantastic time and would consider returning for another relaxing holiday. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

This was a solid stay in a good location, with good service and great food. The drinks were okay, though the selection was fairly basic. It’s a corporate-style resort, one of Hyatt’s “luxury factories,” so don’t expect a truly luxurious or unique experience. There are lots of restaurants, but only one or two open each day in addition to the regular buffet, and they require reservations. At this price, that’s unacceptable. In the evening the bar was very crowded because it was the only one open. Overall, good, but nothing special.

We’d happily stay here again. The hotel was spotless and felt luxurious to me, and the evening entertainment was excellent. We especially liked the Spanish band, and the other guests were singing along too. The staff couldn’t do enough for us during our four nights. David greeted us with two glasses of sparkling wine before we’d even got out of the taxi, and we were checked into our room hours early, which was a big bonus. When I mentioned noise from what seemed to be a fan behind the wall, they moved us to another room straight away. Getting around wasn’t a problem. It’s less than five minutes by taxi to the local town and shopping mall, so I wouldn’t call it out of the way. I’d also disagree with the review saying the hotel looks tired and needs updating. The stay exceeded our expectations, and we’d recommend it to anyone looking for a luxurious hotel.

We spent each evening in the lobby, where live bands played acoustic music that made for a lovely, laid-back atmosphere. Sharing a couple of drinks while listening was a perfect way for us to unwind. Our room had the ocean-facing terrace we’d requested, and waking up to that view was so relaxing. Breakfast was excellent, with loads of choices, especially the fresh fruit juices. The dining hall is huge and also serves the dinner buffet. We couldn’t have asked for a more relaxing stay.
