I came away having met great people, and the friendly, courteous reception staff made me feel welcome. Surf Riders exceeded what I expected. The layout across several houses around the main building means the hostel doesn’t feel so cramped, and you can choose a room that suits your taste at reasonable prices. Guests tend to be sporty and adventurous, so it’s easy to chat over breakfast or at evening events and explore the island together. If you want quiet time, you can always retreat to your room. After seven nights, I’d happily return. The hostel has a lively, friendly feel, and guests come from all age groups. Rooms are clean, though they’re spread across several nearby buildings. The social events, including tapas night and BBQ, happen at the main building and are a nice way to meet people. Breakfast is fairly basic, but covers what you need: cold cuts, hummus, cereals, yoghurt, fruit, vegetables, juices and croissants.

The staff were kind and nice, and the rooms are cleaned every day. You can choose the shared bathroom option, which was comfortable. There’s an optional breakfast, plus pools, ping pong, and board games. Surf equipment rentals and surf classes are available too. A nice hostel.

We loved our stay and hope to come back. It’s in a great spot near the restaurants and beach, with lovely people and good surf hire. The hostel itself is beautiful.

Such a fun surf hostel, with great social nights put on. Alice, Jessie and Lara deserve a special mention for making the place feel like home. They’re doing a good job!
