Villas Tao Mazo

We return to Fuerteventura every year and have tried lots of villas, but this is our favourite. It's spacious, well kept, and even better than we expected, with a pretty big pool. Lajares is peaceful, away from the busy tourist centre. Corralejo and its seafront restaurants are a 10 minute drive, and the dunes beach is about 15 minutes away. Perfectly located. The host is lovely and emailed all the directions and instructions. They let you collect the keys and get on with your holiday, with contact details in case you need anything. We're staying here for two weeks right now, and this year's accommodation gets 10/10 😁

Bigger than we expected, and cozy and clean. One of the two AC units was broken, though, and the AC is only in the bedrooms.

A TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE! The house was in very poor condition: damp had made the walls peel, paint was chipped on the pool, and the windows were held shut with a single screw, so they couldn't be opened. The kitchen was missing basic utensils, including a serving dish and a cutting board. There was just one paella pan, and it was rusty and burnt. My family and I spent eight days at this complex in Lajares (Fuerteventura). For five of those days, the water was cut off, sometimes for as long as 24 hours. They said it was a general outage, but neighboring houses had water and no issues. The emergency number went unanswered. When we finally reached someone, they said, "I can't do anything because I'm not on the island." We were told to buy bottled water at the supermarket. We asked to move to another house on the first day, but they said they were all full. We checked ourselves and found this was FALSE: the house next door was empty for all eight days. We made a complaint and asked for financial compensation. They ignored us, even though we have written confirmation that "they would refund our money." We'll pursue legal action as far as needed. If you're reading this, be aware of what you're getting into so you can avoid losing money and dealing with this trouble.

The villas are peaceful and spacious, and each has its own pool. It's a pleasant 30-minute walk to Lajares.
