Breakfast was included at a village restaurant, where the only waitress seemed friendly but was already overwhelmed with just one other table to look after. She was very slow. There were eight of us at the house, and it really wasn't set up for that many people. Two had to use an inflatable mattress, which had a hole in it. When we told Angelines, she tried to help by swapping it out, but it would've been good to know upfront that the place wasn't suitable for a group our size so we could've found somewhere larger. The setting was lovely, and the service we received was very good apart from the bed issue.
We went as a whole family, with my parents, siblings, nieces, and nephews, and the house worked out beautifully for our few days together. The owners were so welcoming and helped us organize the getaway from start to finish. Everything was kept in great shape, with lots of thoughtful touches, and the surroundings were gorgeous. Such a spectacular weekend. We’d definitely come back, and I’d recommend it if you want a few days in nature away from the city.
We were six and paid over €200 for Saturday night, though we headed out around 6 am Sunday. For that price, the place felt expensive and poorly equipped. There was no dish soap or even basics like salt, sugar, oil, or vinegar, which I think you need for a weekend in a rural house. The house itself has one double room, one twin room, and a sofa bed. The table seats six, but the sofa area only had room for three, so the other three of us sat on chairs. The barbecue is shared with another house, and there's no light by it at night. We hung a lamp out the window to manage. There's a good fireplace, but hardly any wood, not enough for one night. The house might be okay for four, but six was a squeeze. One evening, we lit a fire and then the heating and radiator in the downstairs bathroom failed after a pipe came loose, apparently from water pressure. Hot water poured out and even reached the ceiling. Fortunately, nobody was in there, as it could have caused a scald. We notified the owner, who said no one could come until the next day, so we had no heating or hot shower. The following day a technician fixed it and said it was due to poor maintenance. I got the impression this might have happened before, but I can't be sure. None of us liked the stay, and the rental wasn't up to standard. I don't think we'll return.
We couldn't face staying for the second night we'd booked. The sofa bed sags badly in the middle and was impossible to sleep on, so although the listing says six people, it barely felt suitable for four. Bedroom two is an attic-like room opening off the living room. With the forced-air heating on, it got roasting hot while the living room stayed cold. The air was also incredibly dry, and the children had nosebleeds both days. We were four adults, two two-year-olds, and a six-month-old baby. We told them the numbers from the start and were told it was fine, but at checkout they charged us €40 per night for the baby, saying we'd exceeded the house's capacity. There's an agency managing several houses behind the place, rather than a private owner. The manager, a man named Ángel, was rude and seemed interested only in making money. There are much nicer places to stay around here. DO NOT STAY HERE. Awful.
The village is peaceful, so sleeping was easy, and the owner has a bar right there if you need anything. We could leave the keys at the bar instead of waiting for her to return. I only stayed two nights, but it was fine for a short visit. The ceramic hob had just two burners, though that was enough to cook a couple of things before bed.
