Camping La Torre de Sol

The pool was filthy, with dirty water and junk in it, and the cottages weren't level. We were moved to another cottage because the jacuzzi was leaking, yet we kept seeing people move into the same one. The technician came as if the leak had only just been found, but couldn't fix it. It's disgraceful that the reception knows which cottages have problems and still books people into them. For the amount of money this place costs, there are far too many defects that seem easy to put right. We also had a terrible experience with CJ at reception. The screen for buying day activities had crashed. I reported it to him at 90:30, but it still hadn't been sorted by 16:46. Even plugging something in by the wall seemed too much trouble. He sighed, rolled his eyes, and came across as lazy and completely unwilling to help, with a clearly uninterested attitude. I'm at the campsite now, and it feels like a waste of money. I haven't even mentioned everything. I'm heading back to Barcelona in a few days, to our old campsite. We've never had a holiday in Spain this bad. I'll add photos later.

Never again. We have a small, 6 m motorhome and couldn't fit on a pitch. The 3 m height limit at the entrance should apply to the pitches too, because the trees are extremely low and they'd only just suit a caravan. The restaurant was dirty and the food dreadful. Noise from a nearby beach bar went on until 1 am, and the staff were rude and unhelpful. Avoid, avoid, avoid!

A pleasant area for a few days by the beach, with several local supermarkets nearby. The campsite restaurant does good takeaway pizza. My main concern was the suspicious electrical outages, once or twice every day, which put things like air conditioners, chargers and fridges at risk. Since staying here, the battery mover on my caravan won't charge anymore.

The beach is right beside the campsite, and depending on your pitch, it's only a few metres away. The pools were great, as were the bars and restaurants. We ate there a couple of times; the food was good and a little pricey, but not too bad. There's a well-stocked supermarket where we found everything we needed. The bathrooms were clean, with enough showers that I never had to queue. There are a few places to lay out a towel and generally enough shade, though the pool loungers only serve about a third of the people. My main reason for never coming back is the noise at night. The entertainment ran until midnight, which is too late for me, and then people kept talking and laughing loudly until 2 or 3 in the morning. Cars and motorcycles sometimes drove around at those hours too. Staff asked people to quiet down a couple of times, and one staff member seemed even more angry than I was, but it kept happening every night. I've never experienced that at another campsite, and it amazes me that our two small kids managed to sleep. We also arrived to find a caravan on our pitch. We reported it and went out for the day; when we came back a few hours later, it had been sorted. The reception was very slow and seemed disorganized. It took about 30 minutes just to pay and leave. The dishwashing area was pitch black because the lights didn't work, and nothing was done after I reported it. We'd expected more from a place with “resort” in its name, especially after staying at an excellent camping resort before. This one didn't come close.
