Apartamentos La Solana

We were very comfortable in the spacious, recently renovated room, which had a kitchenette and felt clean and welcoming. The weekend stay was incredible. Since it wasn’t peak season, the area was pretty quiet and the shops were closed, but we could eat at cafes and restaurants in the small village below. The weather meant we couldn’t go hiking, which was a shame. We were able to relax at the hotel in the area, which has a spa, and there are plenty of places to visit with amazing views.

The location is very convenient, 10 minutes from the ski slopes and 10 minutes from the national park, with street parking available. The apartments have been renovated, though the building itself hasn’t. When we got caught in a snowstorm one day, quite a bit of wind came through the windows. There’s one double bedroom and two or three sofa beds, so it might feel cramped for the people sleeping there. Some areas could use more cleaning: under the bed was quite dirty, and the sheets were so-so. The kitchen has a microwave and some cooking utensils but no oven, and cleaning supplies are provided. I’d suggest adding a toilet paper holder and toilet scraper in each bathroom. A few small things could be better, but overall it’s good.

The buffet was a highlight, with plenty to choose from at breakfast and dinner. We stayed Thursday through Sunday and really liked the apartment: it was spotless, the bathroom looked brand new, and the attic had a great feel. Getting to the slopes was easy, so we’ll be back.

The apartments were clean and had everything we needed, which matters a lot to me. The staff were lovely, and the location couldn’t be better. I’ve stayed at a few other places nearby and this one measures up just as well. The price for the quality was spectacular. I honestly can’t understand the rating, it doesn’t do the place justice. I’ll definitely return and highly recommend it.
