Hotel & Spa Peña Montañesa

They let me keep my motorcycle in a large room downstairs for €10, which was a nice touch. There aren’t many choices in this area, and this place is okay, with rooms of a good size. The air conditioning is a joke, the bathroom freebies are basic, and a lot of it feels dated. The restaurant has the same don’t-need-to-try-too-hard feel. There’s also a so-so spa, currently €20 for an hour. It’s all acceptable, but a little pricey for what you get. Still, it’s hard to know where you’d find better around here.

The meals were a highlight for us, with lots of delicious choices at both breakfast and dinner. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and that breathtaking view made the stay feel special. I also loved unwinding in the spa and enjoyed every moment there. Hotel & SPA Peña Montañesa exceeded our expectations. We had an incredible, relaxing getaway, and I’d highly recommend it.

The staff were really friendly, especially at reception, and it is a lovely hotel with a great restaurant and te. The room was disappointing, though. Its window was high up in the roof, which made the space feel a little claustrophobic. We had a small dog, and although the hotel is dog friendly, dogs aren’t allowed on the terrace, so we couldn’t enjoy the wonderful views from there. Having a dog also limited which facilities we could use, we were given one of the worst rooms, and had to pay an extra supplement. I’d stay again without my dog, but not with one.

There are hiking routes just across the road, and my dog loved them. The hotel is very dog friendly, and all the staff were friendly and helpful. We loved our stay. The food was great too: the daily menu was a feast and well worth the money. We ate a lot here, and everything was excellent quality.
