The rooftop terrace at Hotel Matilde has lovely views over the park across the street and the harbor, though there's no bar, and bringing your own food or drinks isn't allowed, so there wasn't much to do up there. The hotel is in a great spot, about a five-minute walk from Playa de Las Canteras, with a cafe right by the entrance serving an excellent, affordable breakfast. I stayed one night in room #504, a Twin Room With Terace. At about 20 square meters, it was on the small side, but had the essentials: a safe, fridge, free bottle of water, small desk, and what they call a terrace. It's really a tiny balcony, barely big enough for two chairs and a small table, but the harbor and park views are lovely. Two windows made the clean, bright room feel more spacious. The bathroom was cramped, with barely room for the toilet and small shower, and the towels were small but usable. Check-in was friendly and easy. I had already prepaid, so being asked for my credit card details as security felt unnecessary, though it wasn't a big deal. For the price, Hotel Matilde offers okay value. The room was a bit too small for me, but it's fine for a short stay in this category and location.

The reception team were lovely, always smiling and saying hello. Rooms were simple and clean, and the location made it easy to get around on public transport or walk to the beach. There's a nice rooftop terrace overlooking the park. Bring your own coffee 🙂

Hotel Matilde made us feel at home, thanks to the very kind and helpful staff. It's a cozy place with a modern interior, only a few minutes from Las Canteras beach and surrounded by good restaurants. We especially enjoyed the generous, tasty breakfast, and our room was spotless and tidy. The roof terrace has a breathtaking view over the city and port. Parking in Las Palmas can be difficult, but the hotel's arrangement with a nearby garage made it much easier. A great choice on Gran Canaria, and we'll definitely return.

The rooftop view is excellent. This is a centrally located, no-frills place, with the essentials covered, including a small fridge and minibar. Grocery shops, markets, and an autolaundry are nearby, and many local sights are easy to reach.

Thanks for hosting us on our first trip to Gran Canaria! The staff were wonderful, professional, and genuinely helpful whenever we had questions or problems. They helped the trip go smoothly. Breakfast was tasty with a nice range of options, and the room was always clean. Definitely recommend!
