Albergue Santo Tomás de Canterbury - Hostel

I stayed a second night and had a great time. When I first hobbled in through a hailstorm, the hosts gave me coffee to warm up, and I had a lovely private room. In the morning, they brought me food and coffee while I was dealing with a few blisters. I also hobbled out looking for a flower shop, but none were open. Thank you so much for taking such good care of me.

The noise was a nightmare around 11am, and nobody did anything about it. I found the place expensive for what it was, with workmen staying there alongside pilgrims and showing them no respect. There were no bars or restaurants nearby, and the closest shop meant a 15-minute walk into town through a rough area. A beggar hassled us for change. I'd avoid it if I were in the area again. I hated it.

For 8€, I got a very comfortable dorm bed and spotless bathroom and kitchen facilities. It's a great albergue just outside the city centre. You can borrow the hostel's free bikes to get into town, and there's a nice bar and lounge area too.

The owners were so kind. They took care of our laundry while we went to dinner, suggested a fantastic restaurant in the centre, and even made the reservation for us. The rooms were clean and cozy, and prices were around 8-10 euro depending on how many beds you book. The albergue is 3 km from the centre, with buses running until 22:30. We couldn't have asked for more.
