Albergue La Casona Del Peregrino

The €20 price felt far too high for what you get. For me, this was more in the €10-12 range. There were disposable bedsheets, no kitchen facilities, and the staff created a generally unwelcoming atmosphere. I left feeling bad about the stay. As a pilgrim, I don't expect high-quality hostels, but usually the price reflects that. This place felt like being back at school, without the community feeling I've been lucky to find at other hostels. I'd definitely tell other pilgrims to look for somewhere else before ending up here.

The albergue has plenty of space to hang out, including a garden, living room, and balcony, with lots of chairs. It was okay in terms of cleanliness, not as dirty as many people describe. Some areas, like the bathrooms, could be updated, but they don't absolutely have to be. The biggest drawback is the price. I knew the cost in advance, but it still feels very expensive for this kind of stay, especially compared with other hostels and even albergues in big towns. The location is very central. Whether you like the city is another matter. I didn't enjoy the traffic and crowds everywhere, but that's just my personal opinion and didn't affect my rating.

We left with the 20€ still in our pockets and were glad not to stay. While we were waiting at the door for the albergue to open, the hospitaleros made several unpleasant comments, which already made us unsure about it. Then at check-in, when we wanted to rethink our plans because we hadn't known about the very high price, they raised their voices and told us to pay then or leave. I don't recommend this place to pilgrims. The hospitaleros came across as very rude and unbelievably focused on money.

The location is good, and the place will do if you have no other options, but I didn't feel it was worth the money. It was dirty and bare, with no proper sheets and no soap in the bathrooms. There was one blanket on the bed, and it was dirty and smelled bad. It was also really loud, and the owners weren't very nice.
