The room has a little fridge and TV, plus a shower cubicle and toilet in the bathroom. It's clean and spacious, and you get one key for the room and another for the front door. We paid 45 euros for one night. Bring enough cash, since bank cards and credit cards aren't accepted. The hotel is about a kilometre from central Llanes, roughly a 15-minute walk, with parking in front. Breakfast costs 3.5 euros and is a coffee, orange juice, a small cake and toast with jam, ham or cheese. The staff are friendly and helpful, though they speak little or no English.

The owner is friendly and very nice, and there's plenty of parking. The hotel is in a quiet spot, about a 15-minute walk from Llanes. There isn't a breakfast service, but you can use the lounge microwave and have coffee, milk or tea there.

There's no breakfast service, though they do provide complimentary coffee in the morning. You can have it in a very pleasant setting, with a shared space that has picnic tables and a microwave for guests to prepare what they like. Every room has a fridge. It's a welcoming hotel in a special setting, and I felt comfortable throughout. Great value for money. I had a lovely stay and would book it again when I return to Llanes.

I ordered the Cantabrian hake, which was juicy and came with excellent accompaniments. The menu also has meat, rice dishes and thoughtfully chosen starters, while the daily set menu is a good way to eat well without spending too much. El Cantón has lovely exposed stone walls and a terrace, with a rustic-chic feel that's relaxed and welcoming. The Mediterranean food is simple but well prepared. Service was warm and attentive, like being in a family-run place. Right in the heart of Santillana del Mar, it's a restaurant with character and excellent ingredients that I'd happily recommend.
