The staff were so friendly, lovely people, and the pension is in a good spot. The rooms were clean, though a bit dated. I found the thin fleece blanket too cold and uncomfortable, and could have used another pillow and a thicker cover. Breakfast was the best surprise in the morning: a generous spread with savory items, homemade bread, delicious homebaked cakes, fruit, colacao and more. It was a pleasant stay.

A nice, affordable place with a simple room and breakfast. It worked just right as a base for heading out and exploring. Breakfast is currently 9-10.30, so an earlier start might have helped, but this is Spain after all!

What makes Pensión Mariaje stand out is how warmly you're received. It also sits well away from the beach crowds and tourist spots, which gives it a more genuine feel.
