Luis and Jorge were the real highlight of our stay at Hotel Rural Cuartamenteru. They’re lovely, friendly, attentive people who clearly care about making guests comfortable. The peaceful surroundings are great for unwinding, and the nearby bar, “El Romano,” is a lovely spot for dinner and drinks. I’d still recommend the place for its owners and setting, and hope the accommodation gets the attention it could use. The rooms have plenty of potential, but we felt maintenance and cleanliness need more care. Some areas needed a deeper clean, and visible wear took away from the comfort. Our room felt dated, and the bathroom was a bit uncomfortable. The bathtub and curtain didn’t seem very hygienic, though ours was in good condition. There were also signs of humidity around the plugs, ceilings, and even the fridge, which we couldn’t use. With some refurbishment and redecorating, plus better cleaning, the rooms could match the high ratings the place gets for other things. We stayed a few weeks ago as two friends, and would recommend it while hoping these issues can be improved.

Luis gave us such a warm welcome and great advice on places to visit and things to do nearby. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The village is quiet, and the atmosphere feels friendly and homely. El Romano also has a welcoming local feel, with really tasty tapas. 10/10. Luis, I’m sorry I missed you when we left and couldn’t say goodbye. Thanks for everything. I’m sure we’ll be back!

We spent four lovely nights at Hotel Rural Cuartamenteru. The staff were friendly and helpful, our room was very clean, and the terrace view was breathtaking. The nearby pub, el romano, belongs to the same family and is a good choice for dinner, with traditional food among apple trees and views of the picos de europa. Poo de Llanes beach is within walking distance, and Llanes downtown is nearby too. It’s also a great base for hikes along the coast and in the mountains.
