The room was clean, but an overpowering chemical smell from what seemed like three cans of air freshener stayed for days. The old mattresses were lumpy, and the linen and towels were old, though they did seem clean. Without heating, condensation built up on the window and wall. They provided a tiny oil radiator, but there was only one socket, so I had to choose between heating the room and charging my phone. Hot water was turned off from midnight until around 7 a.m., and again from midday until evening. The walls were so thin we could hear the people next door shouting and partying late into the night. The main door was locked after hours; we got a key, but only one for the two of us. Wi-Fi was unreliable, and you had to ask for the code. They hadn't even put it on a sticker in the room. The only good thing I can say is that the staff were friendly. This place felt like a badly run hostel. There wasn't any toilet roll when I arrived, and since it was late and reception was unmanned, I had to call the after-hours number. It was very cheap in January, so you get what you pay for, but a good youth hostel would be a better choice.

Lloret de mar is lovely, which makes this even more of a shame. The hotel's owners seem not to care about the noise, and local residents must be having a terrible time. Music from other guests was extremely loud day and night. There were slamming doors, broken bottles, and people shouting and screaming through the night. I didn't get a single hour of sleep over two weeks. This is definitely no place for a holiday, and the hotel's ignorance will hurt tourism.

Booking.com confirmed my reservation, but when we got there, a sign on the door said the hotel had been closed for almost two years since the date on the notice. There was a police order posted too. They should take the bookings offline.

The rooms were spotless, and the care they put into keeping them clean really stood out. The staff went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable and had what I needed. My stay at this hotel Castella was amazing, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for a top-notch stay.

The rooms and staff were great for the price, and the location worked really well too. The owner/manager was a lot of fun and made the stay even better. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a good time!
