Finca El Pavo

Apartment Randa is right by the pool, and we had a lovely, peaceful stay with views of the mountains. We spent two weeks at Finca El Pavo at the end of August, and never lacked for anything during those 14 days. The two-person team took great care of the guests, the grounds, and the apartments. For a finca of this size, breakfast was generous, varied, and high quality. Of course, if you're expecting a 10-meter buffet, this isn't the place for you. Anyone seeking quiet away from Ballermann and the like will be right at home here. The location is excellent, with everything reachable in about an hour. Everything was clean and well kept, there is plenty to see in the surrounding area, and the hosts made us feel at home. We had a really lovely time. Thank you so much, and keep it up!

The owners happened to be there and were very friendly and helpful. It took us about 25-30 minutes by car to reach Es Trenc or Ses Salines, which was farther out of the way than we wanted. If you stay here, be aware that nothing is very close, and we had to take our rubbish away in the car. We've stayed in lots of places on Mallorca, and for us this was a mixed bag: not a total disappointment, but not a highlight either. I'd give it 3.5 stars. The price felt okay, nothing more. The finca is outside the village and only reachable by car along small roads. Its large garden and pool are well maintained, and the grounds are nicely landscaped. I counted seven units, which could mean up to 14 guests if there are two in each. That felt like a lot, and to us the place seemed geared toward filling as many spots as possible, which took away some of the private-finca charm. We had one of the larger upstairs units, with two bedrooms, a small living room, and an adjoining kitchenette without an oven or dishwasher. The sofa was a squeeze. The terrace was spacious but had no sun protection, and there was no air conditioning. The beds were okay, but one was far too hard for me. Skimping on the beds bothered me most. The rest was functional, but showing its age and felt a bit haphazard. The smaller unit we saw looked newer and more modern, especially the bathroom, though some of those units seemed quite small. The photos were professionally done, but the actual place fell a little short. Our unit wasn't exactly dirty, but it wasn't clean either. There was leftover paella ice cream on the terrace, two large dust bunnies on the bed when we arrived, and the corners hadn't been properly cleaned. Early mornings were noisy because of the neighboring property, with lots of roosters and what seemed like a dog breeding operation. Whenever another nearby dog barked, it sounded like a large group of dogs, including young ones, would join in.

We'd never been to El Pavo/Llucmajor before, but we'll definitely return. The hosts were generous and welcoming, and made us feel very well looked after. We found the common area and pool pleasant, and the accommodation clean and in great condition. Llucmajor itself is charming, and both Es Trenc and beautiful Palma are only 20 minutes away. A great spot for beach time and city exploring. All in all, we had a fantastic holiday.

Our holiday was fantastic, and the finca with its beautiful grounds made it even more special. The rooms were spotless, the service was excellent, and the staff were incredibly friendly. Thank you, Johannes and Karsten, for such a wonderful stay and great service all around. We'll definitely come back and highly recommend Finca el Pavo.
