Hostel Villa Cabreros

After a busy day, it was nice to come back to somewhere quiet. There are hiking options nearby, and the hostel is well placed for drives to Sevilla, Corduba, Grenada and Malaga, each about an hour away. Our room was clean and comfortable, and we really liked the location. Thanks so much to the kind, helpful staff!

Los Corrales felt like a lovely way to experience a small Spanish village, with mountains and beautiful scenery all around the hostel. If you arrive by bike, you can explore even more of the countryside. The staff were warm and helpful, and showed me things to discover in town. After hiking, the pool was a great place to cool off in the heat. Villa Cabreros is a good spot to rest after time in bigger cities, or to stay while taking day trips to places like Ronda, Caminito del Rey, Osuna, Antequera or Malaga. I had a great stay and left feeling relaxed. Thanks for everything, you made me feel at home!

We used the local running track in the evenings, just five minutes from the hostel. If we return in cooler weather, we’d like to do more walking or cycling. Hostel Villa Cabreros has comfortable rooms with plenty of character and good facilities, and suits independent travellers who enjoy being away from the usual routes. We hired a car to explore locally, though public buses also run to Campillos, Antequera and Malaga, at least on weekdays.

There’s plenty to do in the area, and I’d suggest renting a car if you don’t have one, since it would be a shame to miss exploring, even for a day. Buses connect Los Corrales with nearby cities, and trains run to osuna and antequera, where you can catch a bus to the hostel. The town feels beautiful and very local. No one speaks English, which made experiencing the REAL Spain feel refreshing. You’ll find banks, bars, restaurants, supermarkets and a Thursday market, along with lots of olive fields where you can watch the sunset. This place used to be a bed and breakfast, but the new owners have been turning it into a 5* hostel for backpackers and adventurous travellers over the past few months. There are dorms for 8, 6 or 4 people, plus two doubles. The facilities include a pool, terraces with amazing views, a fully equipped kitchen with free tea, coffee and sugar, a TV, air-conditioning in all rooms, a chillout lounge and an ensuite bathroom in every room. They’re also considering adding breakfast, tours and free pickups one day, which would be great. Watch this space!
