The common areas had spectacular views, though the pool was a little small. Getting to the town center meant going down a steep hill and then climbing back up to the hotel. The staff were friendly, and the breakfast was good. The waitresses kept checking that we had what we needed. One of them even retrieved my daughter's flip-flop from a difficult-to-reach spot and left it in our room, which we really appreciated. The themed rooms were well maintained, though not very spacious. The bathroom was otherwise fine but had a small bathtub.

Avelino is a real charmer, polite, friendly, and always helpful. The place itself is clean, well cared for, and tastefully done, with spectacular views. A joy to stay here, highly recommended.

We really enjoyed our few days at the Hotel Gurugu. Our room had a lovely little terrace and incredible views, and we were close to the hermitage. What stood out most to Javier and me was how friendly and trustworthy the staff were. Breakfast was a pleasure, with lots of laughs and people always checking what we needed. Avelino was a great help too, keeping us informed about everything. Thanks so much, and keep up the good work!
