Motel Cancún Llanera - Oviedo

It was peaceful, and having a car was handy since there’s no public transport around and you need to drive for every trip. I liked the room, and being able to park inside was useful. The service and cleaning were both very good. The hotel is a bit out of the way, though: from the point where it drops you off, it’s more than 5 km to the hotel.

We couldn’t sleep at all, and when we raised the cold and noise with the staff, they offered no fix. We were told, in effect, to pay and put up with it. The room took three hours to warm up, and a wall unit next door kept clanking all night. The tap ran at full pressure with no way to limit the flow. There was broken glass everywhere, even on the ceiling, and both the bathroom and bedroom were old and nothing like the app photos. The room was beside what seemed to be a laundry area, with a water tank nearby. They had few rooms, yet gave us what seemed like the oldest and noisiest one, and wouldn’t move us after we complained. The photos show luxury, but inside it was rubbish. All those mirrors and the secrecy made no sense to me. It felt more like a strip club than a hotel. We won’t come back. Having to travel to Madrid without sleep was unacceptable. It was the absolute worst, nothing like the photos.

The service made the stay for me. They were attentive, and each morning at checkout they asked whether I wanted the room cleaned, so it was spotless when I got back. I was in Oviedo for four days and picked this motel because I could park right outside and it was only a few kilometers from the center. I’d happily stay there again and again.
